Review of provisions for older workers

In October 2018, the Minister of the day referred a review of section 87 of the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 regarding older workers’ entitlements to workers compensation weekly payments to the WorkCover Board Tasmania for analysis and appropriate consultation, with advice to be provided by August 2019.

The Board engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct an analysis of potential options for amendments to the Act. Following the completion of its review of section 87 of the Act, the Board provided its analysis and recommendations to the Minister in August 2019.
