Working with scheme participants
We administer the workers compensation scheme in Tasmania. This involves:
- licensing insurers and granting permits to self insurers, and monitoring their performance and compliance with their licence/permit conditions
- approving the accreditation of medical practitioners and rehabilitation providers
Alongside this, we:
- collect information and analyse statistics on workplace injuries and workers compensation claims, in order to evaluate the scheme's performance and identify emerging trends and problem areas
- monitor premium rates to ensure insurance arrangements are efficient and competitive
