Ongoing Priorities

WorkCover is looking to focus its attention on promotion and education of the model among key stakeholders, in particular employers, workers and associated industry groups. Consequently the development of a promotional strategy is currently in progress with the aim of achieving a change in behaviours and attitudes towards the management of workplace injuries.

Other priorities currently underway include

• drafting legislation to underpin the model
• educating and training Tasmanian general practitioners in both injury management and workers compensation
• seeking input from key stakeholders in reviewing the existing workers compensation medical certificates
• defining an information, advisory and support service for injured workers and employers
