Injury management programs
An injury management program is an organisation's process for effectively managing workplace injuries, in order to achieve the best results for timely, safe and durable return to work for injured workers.
An injury management program should encourage a shared commitment to recovery and return to work through a co-ordinated and integrated approach to injury management.
Employers and insurers must have an approved injury management program in place. Injury management co-ordinators are also involved in developing and implementing injury management programs.
The following guides will help employers, licensed and self insurers who have or would like to develop and implement their own injury management program (note: the Act prevails where inconsistencies between the guide and the Act exist).

In 2013 WorkSafe Tasmania consulted with scheme participants to review the ‘Injury Management Program – Guidelines for Developing’. Following this consultation, the WorkCover Tasmania Board approved the revised version of the Injury Management Guidelines, ‘Licensed Insurers and Self-Insurers’ Guidelines for Developing Injury Management Programs; Version 2 – 1 July 2014
