Key roles in the injury management process

Aside from the worker, the employer and the insurer, there are some other important people involved in the injury management process:

• the worker's primary treating medical practitioner
• the injury management co-ordinator, who co-ordinates and oversees the entire injury management process for serious workplace injuries, and provides a single contact for everyone
• the return to work co-ordinator (required for workplaces with over 50 employees), who provides support and assistance to injured workers at their workplace
• the workplace rehabilitation provider, who provides services known as workplace rehabilitation services
