Providing a safe workplace

Providing a safe and healthy workplace

As an employer, you’re responsible for providing a safe working environment for your workers, contractors and visitors to your workplace.

You may also want to introduce activities or initiatives in your workplace aimed at increasing the general health and wellbeing of your workers.

However the thought of managing health and safety can seem overwhelming. Knowing where to start and what first steps to take can be the most difficult part of managing work health and safety.

The Work Health and Safety Advisory Service can provide free advice and assistance to help get you started and support you along the way.

Work Health and Safety Advisory Service

If you own or manage a small to medium sized business (up to 200 workers), we can provide free work health, safety and wellbeing advice and assistance.

We have Advisors across the State providing expertise in:

  • work health and safety (your legal responsibility to provide a safe working environment)
  • work health and wellbeing (introducing activities or initiatives in your workplace aimed at increasing the general health and wellbeing of your workers)

Our Advisors will visit your workplace and provide advice that is specific to your needs. They can also speak at your tool box, management or staff meetings to help raise awareness of health and safety issues in your workplace. And all of our services are free of charge.
